Sue started her career in Marketing 25 years ago, when she joined IBM and gained her Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
In the late 90’s the mobile industry started to take shape, and during this time Sue left the comfort of a big corporate to join a small mobile distribution business to find out what all the fuss was about. A few years later, she joined Samsung Electronics as the first marketing person working in the mobile division for the UK. Whilst at Samsung, she was fortunate to see their market share for mobile jump from 0.5% up to over 25% over six years, to become the UK’s number one mobile brand. The decision to step back and start family led to a move to Nokia, where she continued her career in marketing working closely with the Nokia UK mobile sales team.
With two young daughters, Sue made the decision to take some time off and when returning to work, she realised that her passion was driven by business growth and building brands. She also enjoyed the buzz of working in teams with smaller companies driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and new ideas. Drawing on her experience working for leading brands, she decided to set up a small Marketing consultancy focusing on business growth for SMEs. Sue started working with Genuine Solutions in 2019 on a consultancy basis and was delighted to join the team more formally at the beginning of 2022 as Head of Marketing. She still has a heart for the mobile industry and is passionate about looking after our planet through recycling and repurposing technology.
Outside of work, she spends most of her time taking care of her two daughters and running. Having completed the London Marathon in 2016, she is hoping to return to the same level of fitness in 2022, signing up to a local Half Marathon this September.
